Picked up the New k2 frame along with the 2000 and 5500 bags. Loaded up the 2000 bag and strapped on an extra 60 lbs of rice. Total weight was at 82.5 lbs. Ser out for 3 miles. The frame is solid! Good flex and no rubbing on back or hips. The thicker/larger lumbar pad was comfy and a good improvement. Exo has come far fast. Only their 3rd gen and they are one of the top frames out there. We’ll done! Looking forward to packing elk this fall.

Omg, Steve, Lenny you nailed it. This frame is sweet. Now I’ve owned the2014 frame- 2015 frame and now the new k-2. If you haven’t seen this frame or have one of the older frames, yes this is well worth the upgrade. I’d put this on par with the new mystery ranch guide light frame or the new kifaru duplex series. The tubular titanium frame is beyond beefey. The waist belt is thicker and larger as well as the shoulder straps. The new lumbar is so so sweet and comfy. I’ve had 100 pounds in this baby and it’s as good or better as any frame on the market. I boought the 2000 bag and 5500 bag with the k-2 frame. Man what a combo.

  3. 5 out of 5

I had a 2015 and the K2 is a substantial upgrade. It’s just a comfortable pack that doesn’t beg to be taken off at every stop – unlike every other bag I’ve tried. Every update is well worth it, and while I could go item-by-item, just know that every change has a made a positive difference in the performance of the pack – even the new lid design. I will say widening the titanium frame and using larger tubing is (for me) the biggest benefit. It made the slightly stiff feel (on the curve of my back) of the 2015 narrow spacing disappear without affecting the frame’s ability to flex, yet it still feels absolutely stiff enough for the heaviest loads. As I said, I could go on, item by item, but buy with complete confidence. Steve and Lenny have put a great deal of work into the new frame and it has paid off. Well done EXO.
