Description

The FTE Roll Top Dry bag was designed to give the hunter 100% waterproof protection (unlike rain covers) for their gear inside the pack and allow you to ignore the elements and just go hunt.  The three different sizes are designed to fit inside your current 2000, 3500 or 5500 bag (2017 and 2018 models).  You can fill the entire interior volume of the bag or contain just a portion of the pack’s contents that you want to protect while still having access to the rest of the bag through the side zippers and external pockets.

Dry Bag Weight:

  • 2000: 9.4oz
  • 3500: 10.7oz
  • 5500: 13.6oz

  1. 5 out of 5 Worked great

Used The FTE on a recent goat hunt in Alaska. The bag worked great keeping everything dry and held up to a lot of abuse. I loved the ease of throwing things into the main bag and not having to worry about it. Also, it was far superior over a pack cover for busting brush. Everyone else couldn’t even use their pack covers because they would hang up and snag on everything. Their suff got wet and mine was bone dry. One thing to consider when using this system is if your going on an extended trip, one where the main bag is completely full, you may need a second dry bag for things you plan on leaving outside the tent. For example, I had my food in a game bag and would hang it outside at night. The food stayed dry because it was all sealed in individual pouches, but the game bag was soaked. Because I had food for so many days and so much other gear, I couldn’t fit the food bag in the zipper opening between the dry bag liner and bag if that makes sense. This was poor planning on my part and looking back I could possibly have unbuttoned the top of the dry bag and rolled it down to compartmentalize dry stuff from wet better. Just wanted to throw that out there for people so they can plan a little better than I did. Buy with confidence!

Our Dry Bags are purpose built to work with our packs, with integration features such as a snap-in at the roll-top and a clip-in inside the bottom of our packs. You can put the Dry Bag inside of another pack, but it will not have the advantage of those purpose-built integration features.

I have a 3500 gen 2 bag (pre rolltop). Will this bag integrate with an older pack?

Yes, you can use the Dry Bag with previous generation Exo pack bags, but you will not have the integrated roll-top snaps, nor the hook to connect the dry bag in the bottom of the pack. The Dry Bag will be “floating” inside your previous generation bag.

Just finished a week in the Boundary Waters using the 3500 pack and this dry bag as my main pack and my day pack/tackle box. It worked exceptionally well! Everything stayed dry, just like it should, and by using the side zippers I was able to keep my Plano boxes in the main compartment without having to endanger my spare cloths and electronics in the dry bag. And portaging with an actual backpack (instead of a Duluth pack that is essentially just a big duffel with shoulder straps) was a dream. It made it possible to carry my bag and take the canoe on a single portage regardless of how difficult the terrain.

Side note: The dry bags were on backorder a month before my trip, but I asked in the notes if it could be expedited. It was probably just coincidence, but my pack arrived the day before I left. The crew at EXO seem to really understand the value of customer service, and I think they genuinely care about the success of your trip. Thanks to all at EXO!!

Great solution to keep all your gear and essentials dry/clean. Fits in the pack perfectly giving you 100% assurance that things you want to stay dry will stay dry.

Just upgraded from the older frame to the k2 3500 and opted to add the FTE. I took it down an Idaho river and had some pretty wet spring conditions. I haven’t used it in the pack yet other than trying it out in the garage. It seems really slick and it will be in use this fall for sure. I was a bit concerned that the bag was not going to be tough enough to be abused in and out of boats on a longer river trip (I am accustomed to the thicker hypalon type river bags) since it is so light weight compared to traditional river roll top dry bags. But it performed great, held up to the abuse, and can double from a innovative backpack accessory, to a dedicated river bag with ease. Well done.

It is going to be ~68l when you account for the main bag, lid, and pocket storage.

I just purchased the Exo K2 3500 pack and also purchased an FTE roll top dry bag , this was an essential extra for the pack as far as I was concerned and it was a fortunate decision that I did purchase the dry bag.I had planned a late 5 day hunt in the Snowy Mountains region of Southern New South Wales Australia, for Sambar deer, as luck would have it one day into the walk in hunt a severe low pressure front was sweeping up from the southern ocean with blizzard conditions down to a thousand feet and torrential rain at the lower levels, this was not the first time I have been caught out in conditions like this so was well prepared for the severity of the weather , but it meant that there was nothing for me to do but set up camp and prepare to sit out the storm , the first night was horrendous my tent collapsed halfway through the night due to the ferocity of the wind and the weight of the snow that was falling, thankfully I had stowed my extra dry thermals and change of clothes in the dry bag along with other necessities, the snow turned to heavy rain and it was get the tent re rigged or I was going to be in trouble, which I was able to do in the pouring rain but was soaked to the skin everything I had was soaking wet but fortunately I had stowed my bivvy bag and and sleeping bag in the dry bag before I attempted to re erect the tent, so was able to have the warm clothes and sleeping gear I needed to escape Hypothermia, I hate to think what the out come would have been if I hadn’t purchased the dry bag, as it performed perfectly for my needs and wants. This is a great product and I would highly recommend it to partner with the Exo pack, congratulations guys a well thought out addition to the excellent accessories for your packs, regards Robert Bradford, Australia

I used this bag in my 5500 this spring for bears and was quite impressed. I kept my sleep system, tent and food in this bag and pulled it out when I hit spike camp. I left it hanging in a tree at camp with contents still inside in the middle of a downpour while I set out on an evening glassing session, and was glad to find my gear bone dry 4 hours later. I’m also not easy on my gear and it has held up amazingly well…better and lighter than dry bags costing way more. Well worth the money and deffinetly a must have for serious backcountry hunters!

Ive only had to use the dry bag one time so far, but it worked great. Its was for a kayak trip in Hawai and i only used the dry bag, no pack. Kept all of our things dry even floating down the river by itself after we tipped over. Thanks EXO!!

I’ve been using this dry bag all spring here in Montana where we get the occasional spring thunder shower. It keeps everything in it, perfectly dry. I absolutely love it! I don’t have to stop to put a rain fly over my pack and then remove the fly every time I need in my pack, it’s just always there doing its job. Its rugged, super light, completely silent, and perfectly integrated.

I use my pack, and liner system constantly. I was beyond impressed with the materials and durability of the system as well as the ease of attachment within the pack. This is almost necessary equipment to have with any of the Exo Mountain line of packs. If the quality continues into the future then I will be left with no other choice than to be a lifetime customer.

Bought the 5500 bag. Haven’t had chance to test in the field with wet conditions but I am impressed so far. Fits great in the bag and the roll top is nice feature. The strap hold it down and keep it in place at the bottom. You can tell it adds some weight to bag, so if you are counting ounces might want to consider. Overall really impressed and can’t wait to put it to work in elk season.

The EXO Roll Top Dry bag is an awesome setup with one of there packs! I was very glad I had it for my hunt down in New Zealand. My gear stayed completely dry for over a week thanks to this puppy. It can integrated easily and is very functional. There is plenty of room around the dry bag and can be taken in and out with ease. Like all of EXO’s gear, it is very durable and made with high quality. If you got an EXO pack, you definitely need to get one yourself one of these! Don’t chance your gear ever getting wet again!

I love it. I think for long term exposure to moisture its the only practical solution.  An added bonus is that it keeps the contents of my bag unexposed to blood when packing. Thanks for making the best pack on the planet! Keep up the good work!

Works great and very convenient. Fits everything that’s in my pack and I can leave gear out of it that can get wet and still access from the outside. Also works great as a food bag at camp. Highly recommended purchasing one along with your bag.

This was a very slick system for my Montana elk hunt this past fall. It rained or snowed the entire trip, but all of my gear stayed dry. Very easy to use and you can still keep items that don’t need to stay dry right inside of the side zip for easy access. Would highly recommend.
